Disney’s Skyliner- A Full Review

Disney’s Skyliner is the newest mode of transportation around the Walt Disney World parks and resorts. The Skyliner is a gondola lift system that connects Epcot and Hollywood Studios theme parks. The Skyliner also makes stops at Art of Animation Resort, Pop Century Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort and Riviera Resort. It’s a 5-10 minute walk from The Boardwalk Inn, Beach Club, Yacht Club, and The Swan and Dolphin Resorts. We used Disney’s Skyliner for the first time during our February 2020 trip and we LOVED it! We went out of our way to use it. And when we were bored, we went on a ride.

How It Works

Disney’s Skyliner system is actually 3 different tracks that all come together at Caribbean Beach Resort. There you can get on a different track to go to one of the parks or another resort.

Track One travels between Epcot and Caribbean Beach with a stop at Riviera Resort. Track Two travels between Hollywood Studios and Caribbean Beach. Track Three travels between Art of Animation/Pop Century and Caribbean Beach.

Is it possible to get from Epcot to Art of Animation on the Skyliner? Yes! You’ll jump on the Skyliner, which is located near the World Showcase park entrance between the UK and France. You’ll stay in your gondola as it passes through Riviera Resort. When you arrive at Caribbean Beach Resort, you’ll get off and walk straight across the terminal to get on another gondola heading for Art of Animation.

Our ride from Art of Animation to Riviera with the transfer stop at Caribbean Beach probably took 15 minutes. Definitely faster than busses would have gotten us around! And a lot more fun, with great views.

Would I Recommend It?

If you love Epcot or Hollywood Studios (or both) and plan to spend the most time there, I definitely recommend staying at one of the Skyliner Resorts. Disney did a really great job in that there is a resort in each resort tier connect to the Skyliner: Riviera is a Deluxe Resort, Caribbean Beach is a Moderate Resort, and both Pop Century and Art of Animation are Value Resorts.

I think the best part was that even with all the cheer teams that were at Disney for Nationals when we were there, our longest wait to get on the Skyliner was two minutes. TWO MINUTES! Definitely better than waiting for a bus or a boat.

Every Disney Ride Ends in a Gift Shop

If you love Disney merch, you’re going to love the Skyliner stuff that is available! From popcorn buckets and mugs to t-shirts and socks, there’s something for every Skyliner fan’s needs. The Skyliner merch is available at Art of Animation, Pop Century, Caribbean Beach, and Riviera gift shops as well as World of Disney in Disney Springs.
